I was thinking maybe you would just do a big push on this I think this is a very difficult idea because it’s so complicated and people have been asking about it for years. It’s just been so long since anybody did this It’s going to take us 10 years to see where the world is. We know what you guys are looking for, so we’re going to take some really long time and learn from what you guys have to say. We’re hoping for that.
We also want to know what you guys think about our plan for the rest of the year. So we’re going to go back to the drawing board in two weeks to try to answer all three of the questions.
We always have been pretty skeptical of doing a straight up push, but this year we saw very clearly just how far we’ve come. The first question comes straight from our perspective, really. The answer you give is so basic and simple. The second question, though it does make it easier to do, we don’t want to jump into that because we know we can’t get past that step. You know We want to know how hard we’ve worked to get that answer. So we want to be able to give somebody an opportunity to say yes or no. That doesn’t mean we want to talk about all the things that don’t apply to an open source project. That would be foolish.
The third question is more important, about this team. The problem is, even though we have our hands full at this point in time, there can’t be a point where somebody says yes. If everyone does the same thing, and we get the same answer, then that team is in a lot of trouble, because we’re not on the same page. Some people don’t like the answers that we’re about to give. Some people want to make sure they’re not lying to us. And while we try to keep everything as simple as possible so that it all looks good, we’re not going to stop asking What does our plan mean for future project development What do we need to see happen in terms of our roadmap And now that’s really up to us.
So we’re really just kind of trying to get people to say oh, I just went this far. I really had this realization and I like the idea of the open source movement, so I don’t want to keep going. And that’s where there’s been so much confusion and shit going on between us. And
