It’s always been an obsession of nerds. What can a game have that hasn’t been played in some time
We asked an actual friend of ours, a longtime gamer, to talk the subject. I was curious because he never played Magic but now he does. He plays every day. I asked him about this
Why didn’t you play it before
He said that he never played it (though he doesn’t play it when he doesn’t like it). He thought that a lot of players aren’t going to put in much effort to learn a game by playing it before. A lot of players want to learn something new and new before they start a game.
In my opinion, the problem with this is that there is also a fundamental difference of the way I use Magic. I never played it myself until I had learned by reading books, and so now I don’t really understand it but I can tell you the whole truth about the mechanics. When I first saw Modern I thought, Wow I have actually learned a lot from a lot of the stuff that I did not play until I had learned that I shouldn’t have. I learned quite a bit. In the same way I never played Modern, I probably won’t play Modern until I have become a good player.
This might seem like unfair, I think, but it is true. I have heard a lot of people that say to a friend, So you don’t want to play games because you aren’t good enough. But you can’t be good enough.
I didn’t understand it first. I started taking all of it seriously. I was playing Magic for a very short time before I began to take all the other things seriously. I would often go to the store, spend money, but I never really tried to put the fun into my Magic because it was all my focus.
I guess to be clear, I’m trying to avoid playing Magic because I think people will hate me if I don’t play them.
Why is Magic so popular
When I think about the first time I played Magic I think of two things. One, I loved Magic. I liked my opponents and I loved the art of cards. Two, I’ve never heard anyone think it wasn’t fun. I’m glad to learn something new
