It was a stunning sight this morning. Two people with gunshot wounds were transported to the hospital after a shooting on Broadway, according to NYPD officers.

The men were shot outside the building where the shooting occurred and the man with gunshot wounds was transported by a third officer, according to CBS2’s Tom Davis.

The man died at the scene. No one else was injured, police told WNBC 4.

The shooting happened sometime around noon local time.

How Does the United States Turn the Tables

The Washington Post reports that the Trump administration is trying to stop a proposed military budget that would end over 40 years to the U.S. military’s presence in Europe. The article also reports that President Trump wants to create a special tax break for American contractors to help pay for this back-end defense for NATO defense-related jobs and projects.

According to the Post, a Trump administration official said the administration is not looking for a way to prevent a shutdown. But it is likely that he means a shutdown to encourage the Pentagon to spend more on its reinforcement, or more money at the same time.

To be able to support that, Trump is suggesting that the Pentagon take over the military-related workforce from private companies that provide defense-related business (such as the military-industrial complex) and hire those employees elsewhere. In the letter to the government, the Pentagon claims that this would make it much harder for private contractors to compete with the Pentagon, including with smaller US firms like Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Boeing (NASDAQBOB) and others. The letter states that if the Trump administration can convince the Congress to pass a separate defense budget, there would be little reason to halt private companies or even to close a shadow Pentagon for good.
